Criminal procedure — Jury verdict — Legally inconsistent
A jury, sitting in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County on May 23, 2017, found the appellant, Willie B. Stewart, guilty of robbery but acquitted him of second-degree assault. On rendition of the verdict, defense counsel pointed out to the court that the verdict was legally inconsistent and requested that the jury be directed to resume deliberations. The court found the verdict to be consistent.
