Ciena Corp., a networking systems company in Hanover, plans to acquire DonRiver, a private software and services firm based in Toronto, Canada.

The company plans to add DonRiver’s federated network and service inventory management solutions to its Blue Planet software and services for network orchestration and control.

Ciena also plans to incorporate DonRiver’s staff into the Blue Planet organization to make a services group that specializes in managing information technology and network operations modernization projects.

The company did not disclose how much it plans to pay for DonRiver.

The company expects the deal to close during its fiscal fourth quarter in 2018, subject to customary closing conditions. Spurrier Capital Partners of New York acted as financial advisor to DonRiver for the transaction.
