Maryland nonprofit recruits 11 NFL players to oppose animal cruelty

Show Your Soft Side Inc., a Lutherville nonprofit that aims to end animal cruelty, has added 11 NFL players, including two from the Baltimore Ravens and one from the Washington Redskins, to its roster of ambassadors.

The new “Softies,” and their teams are:

Tommy Bohanon,A.J. Cann, Ben Koyack and Dawuane “DJ” Smoot, Jacksonville Jaguars; Luke Bowanko, New England Patriots; Matt Ioannidis, Washington Redskins; Rodney McLeod, Philadelphia Eagles; Brandon McManus, Denver Broncos; Patrick “Peanut” Onwuasor and Brent Urban, Baltimore Ravens; Muhammad “Mo” Wilkerson, Green Bay Packers.

The “Softies” participate in the campaign by posing for photos with animals and teaching that showing compassion towards animals is a strength.
