A retail fuel and convenience store business headquartered in Maryland has closed a deal to buy more stores.
La Plata-based The Wills Group announced that its subsidiary, SMO Inc. acquired the retail business of Tevis Oil Inc.
SMO will operate the nine shops acquired from Tevis Oil, mostly located in Carroll County and southern Pennsylvania, under the Jiffy Mart brand. The additional nine shops bring to 285 the total number of locations operated by The Wills Group and SMO under a mix of brand names across the mid-Atlantic region, The Wills Group said in a news release.
The Wills Group is transitioning supplier and vendor agreements to SMO and is integrating the Jiffy Mart line of business into its retail fuels and convenience store operations, the company said.
The acquisition was finalized Sept. 7. Citing competitive reasons, a company spokeswoman would not reveal the purchase price.
