President & CEO
Iron Bow Technologies
If one word were to describe Rene LaVigne’s leadership style, it would be connection. It is through connection that LaVigne has been able to grow Iron Bow Technologies, an IT company that helps commercial and federal agencies solve business challenges, into an award-winning global business. His leadership has guided Iron Bow from $200 million in sales in 2004 to sales expected to exceed $1 billion in 2018.
LaVigne values an entrepreneurial spirit, and drove the expansion of the company’s healthcare unit to develop innovative technology in telemedicine. With his guidance, his team developed the CLINIC™ clinical care device to allow remote consultation between providers and patients, which ultimately improves patient outcomes and maximizes the use of the providers’ time.
Just like the company mantra LaVigne coined, the “Iron Bow Way,” LaVigne’s belief as a successful leader is a mutual respect for all members of the community and always putting the customer first. This mantra flows into everything he does and how he treats his more than 600 employees. He regularly engages employees and fosters an open environment to encourage innovative thinking and new ideas.
“A true test of an individual’s character is measured in the most difficult of times. I have been side by side with Rene in the difficult periods and even in the toughest of times, he has always put his employees before himself,” said Scott Sanner, General Manager of Healthcare at Iron Bow.
Iron Bow has been named one of the best places to work by The Washington Post and Virginia Business for consecutive years.
