Megan DeGroat believes honesty and transparency have been the keys to her success as a principal at SC&H Group. “The value of the trust others place in me goes far beyond what can be measured, and ultimately, I think, is my greatest asset,” she said.
DeGroat has long-standing relationships with some of Maryland’s leading companies, said Andrew Kinsey, SCH Group audit manager. “Megan connects with people on a professional and personal level, which drives client satisfaction and retention and fosters a positive work environment.”
DeGroat has been a volunteer and board member with Pathfinders for Autism, which provides information and resources for families, and There Goes My Hero, for families impacted by blood cancer.
“Kindness is what matters most in my house, and if I can extend kindness to others through my service to those organizations, my hope is that my children will see that simple acts can go a long way,” she said.
DeGroat is always available to help others at SC&H, Kinsey said. “She understands the stresses inherent in the public accounting industry and makes sure her staff has the resources to be successful.”
