Chief Operating Officer
Optimized Thermal Systems, Inc.
Cara Martin’s leadership at Optimized Thermal Systems, Inc., has helped it expand and transform the way thermal systems are designed and developed.
Martin, a mechanical engineer, joined the company as an engineering manager in 2013 and in 2015 was promoted to COO. With the support of her team, she worked to steadily increase the company’s size and tripled the number of employees and annual revenue.
“This accomplishment is rare in any business and a testament to her business acumen and leadership abilities,” Lynne M. Durbin, president of InLine LLC, a mentor of Martin through an Executive Alliance program, said.
At the same time, the firm expanded its service offerings by building an experimental laboratory to enable testing and prototype development support. It also maintained its commitment to providing support for research and development efforts for the HVAC&R industry.
Martin, a mother of two, is also a co-chair of the Auxiliary Board at Girls in the Game, which helps girls lead with confidence through fun and active sports. She is also on the steering committee of Million Women Mentors Maryland.
