Communications vets acquire The Hatcher Group

Communications veterans Amy Buckley and Amy Fahnestock have acquired The Hatcher Group, a full-service national communications firm with offices in Baltimore, Bethesda and Annapolis, it was announced Wednesday.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The Hatcher Group will now operate as a woman-owned small business (WOSB).

Buckley has 25 years of experience in strategic marketing and communications. As a principal at Reingold, she managed large public awareness campaigns for clients, including the U.S. Department of Education and the U.S. Census Bureau. While at Varsity Group, she developed an industry-leading e-commerce service for schools and oversaw a national marketing network on college campuses. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Boston College and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business Administration from the University of Virginia.

Fahnestock has more than two decades of experience specializing in program management, strategic communications and change management. At Booz Allen Hamilton, she led program and delivery management across significant engagements for the federal government and has managed cross-functional client delivery teams. She also co-founded a WOSB focused on mission-based communications. Fahnestock holds Bachelor of Arts in both communications and psychology from the University of Virginia.
