As BB&T’s Maryland regional president, Christopher Holt is dedicated to helping clients achieve economic success and financial security, creating a place where associates can learn, grow and be fulfilled and improving the communities in which the bank resides.
Holt oversees the financial firm’s statewide banking operations, including 150 branches, $10 billion in deposits and nearly 1,300 associates. He joined BB&T when the firm acquired Susquehanna Bank in July 2015 and was appointed regional president in May 2016.
“BB&T’s mission is a worthy one — we perform honorable work. We strive to make the world a better place by providing capital and counsel that fosters business investment and economic growth, which in turn create jobs,” Holt said. “We help individuals and families realize their dreams. All of this is accomplished through sharing knowledge, providing insight and delivering on a strong value proposition. And when we are successful, all of our constituents, clients, associates, communities and shareholders benefit.”
He’s credited with being a consensus builder, a problem-solver, team-focused and a positive influence among his employees. Holt also believes strongly in service to the local community and currently serves on the Board of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation where he co-chaired the Spring Swing event for the last three years. He also serves on the boards of the Greater Baltimore Committee, Maryland Bankers Association, Maryland Council Economic Education, the Maryland Zoo in Baltimore and St. Mary’s College of Maryland Foundation.
