Successful serial entrepreneur John Shetrone has seen his dream flourish at Vision Technologies, a company he founded from a single room above his garage in 2000.

The Maryland-based network integration practice delivers information technology services and solutions and is currently tracking toward $130 million in revenue. Vision is in its second year as the official audio-visual partner of the Baltimore Ravens, and Shetrone is committed to delivering world-class solutions for the “Internet of Things” — the way of the future.

Vision has a unique IP-centric business model and delivers a holistic view of network management and bandwidth allocation in its Integrated Technology Delivery methodology.

“Delivering world-class customer experience and quality is of utmost importance — we have a customer is first culture,” Shetrone said.

The company is currently planning to relocate its headquarters within Anne Arundel County, adding 100 new full-time jobs in the next five years.

Shetrone entered the Navy right out of high school and became a service-disabled veteran, so he now places priority on hiring veterans and supporting veterans organizations.

Prior to Vision, he was a co-founder and principal of the Apex Group, a network integration company sold to ADC Telecommunications in 1997.

Shetrone serves as on the Board of Directors of TEDCO and is on the Board of Directors for the Anne Arundel Economic Development Corporation.

This is a winner profile from The Daily Record's 2019 Influential Marylanders awards.
