Since graduating as valedictorian from Villa Julie College (now Stevenson University) with a bachelor’s in nursing in 1994, JoAnn Ioannou has carved out an impressive career in nursing. She has worked at Villa Julie as an instructor, at Johns Hopkins Hospital in a variety of management positions and, since 2015, as senior vice president for patient care services and chief nursing officer at the Greater Baltimore Medical Center in Towson.

In a letter supporting her recognition, Dr. Patricia M. Davidson, dean of the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing, called Ioannou “the epitome of a modern nurse leader.”
