Limsky Law Group, LLC
As an attorney practicing elder law and asset protection, Mathew Limsky deals with many scared and unsure clients. Their aging family members need or may soon need care, but with the monthly cost of care averaging a steep $10,000 per month, most families lack the financial resources to private-pay for care. Limsky uses his expertise to comfort those individuals by helping them sort through available options, which can be cryptic and difficult to find.
“A significant portion of what I do is helping people find comfort and to regain the ability to breathe. The pressure on families dealing with long-term care are extraordinary, and most people feel helpless and lost,” Limsky said.
Limsky values helping others. In addition to educating clients and non-clients, Limsky is in the process of educating a handful of attorneys, free of charge, on how to properly handle elder law and Medicaid matters – all with the hope that more families can obtain the information they need. He also volunteers for Maryland Law Day in providing advance medical directives to elderly community members with limited means. Limsky also serves as a section council member for the Elder Law and Disability Rights Section of the Maryland State Bar Association and as the vice chair for the Estates & Trusts Committee of the Baltimore County Bar Association.
“I value the feeling I get in helping others over profit,” Limsky said. “In recent years, I have faced a handful of scenarios … which have caused me to re-evaluate what is important to me and the feeling I get from helping is second to none. Getting involved in policy work, volunteering, being on boards, they’re in pursuit of my goal to make the world a better place, not to earn a certain amount of money.”
