Stephen M. Mersinger

Merrill Lynch
Wealth Management Advisor

mersinger-stephen-mf-0911Stephen M. Mersinger has taken the same work ethic and leadership skills that made him the first All-American in the history of the York College lacrosse program and applied it to the world of financial planning.

Mersinger, 32, helps clients get on the road to financial security through his work as a wealth management adviser for Merrill Lynch. Mersinger, who works out of the offices of the Mersinger Murray Group in Baltimore, says honesty, integrity and humility have been the keys to his success.

“I allow the average American to live the life they always envisioned without the burden of financial stress,” Mersinger said. “I will be their friend, their confidant and their biggest fan throughout the process; it is my job to figure out the logistics to make everyone’s personal dream come true.”

Mersinger, along with being an All-American lacrosse player in 2009, was also an Academic All-American the same year and was named All-Conference in 2007 through 2009. He has coached youth lacrosse and basketball and is currently an assistant coach for the Mt. Saint Joseph lacrosse team, which plays against top national competition as a member of the prestigious MIAA Conference.

Mersinger also mentors his players in financial literacy and college readiness and often meets with their prospective colleges.

“With coaching, I am able to give my knowledge and experience to the youth and future of the world which is more impactful internally than nearly anything I do professionally,” Mersinger said.

As a member of the York College Alumni Board, Mersinger mentors college lacrosse players, connecting them with internship opportunities, and fundraises for the school. He was also named by Merrill Lynch to a panel tasked with improving training for future financial advisers.

Mersinger, a native of the Baltimore area, is a Certified Financial Planner, Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor and a Certified Plan Fiduciary Advisor. He received his Bachelor of Science in business administration with double minors in finance and marketing from York College.
