Miles & Stockbridge
Building and growing a unique legal practice in data privacy and security is Veronica Jackson’s most significant professional accomplishment to date.
As counsel for Miles & Stockbridge, she guides clients through data breach and cyber incident response efforts, including guiding them through notifications and representing them in any subsequent regulatory and legal matters.
“My aim is to provide excellent and innovative legal work but also be someone that clients trust and with whom they enjoy interacting,” she said.
“… As an African American, a woman and a working mom, I bring a unique perspective to clients on a wide range of workplace issues. My unique perspectives, coupled with my legal skills, adds value to my clients and my colleagues.”
Jackson earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Florida A&M University and her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University. Employed at Miles & Stockbridge since 2015, she previously worked as an associate at McGuireWoods LLP, Joseph, Greenwald & Laake P.A. and Kelley Drye & Warren LLP.
This year, she joined the board of Community Law in Action (CLIA), whose mission is to teach leadership and advocacy skills to Baltimore youth.
“I’ve seen firsthand how instilling confidence in young people and nurturing their talents can be transformative,” she said.
She was inspired to perform community service by her late father, who devoted decades to mentoring students from the high school he attended in the Bronx, New York. He created a summer program to give students an opportunity to work with him at IBM.
“Seeing CLIA embrace a similar philosophy motivated me to join its board and I am excited to continue that dedication to the personal development of young people,” Jackson said.
