Managing Attorney

The Law Office of Evan K. Thalenberg P.A.

Cara O’Brien, managing attorney at The Law Office of Evan K. Thalenberg P.A., has spent more than a decade dedicating her practice to advocating for children poisoned by lead paint, securing verdicts awarding more than $5 million to two clients alone.

“I have a very specific focus in inspiring and helping women in the legal profession and dedicate all of my time to my firm and my focus,” O’Brien wrote. “I balance having a growing family, a thriving legal practice and commitment to bettering the community.”

O’Brien is proud of her ability to juggle her family and job and is active at her oldest child’s elementary school. She mentors the firm’s female attorneys to help them attain a work-life balance.

O’Brien sits on the board of directors for Community Law in Action and co-chairs the Women’s Law Caucus for Maryland Association for Justice. A girl she mentored for seven years through Big Brothers Big Sisters is applying for medical school and O’Brien continues to guide her.

O’Brien graduated from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and received a bachelor’s degree from Loyola University Maryland.
