Camps Airy & Louise

As a parent of a child with special needs, Lauren Perlin discovered firsthand the importance of  Baltimore’s Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital, especially in its support of children and families like hers. However, she realized that not many knew about the renowned hospital, so she set out to change that. When she was asked to help with the hospital’s annual fundraiser, Perlin set out to make it the best one yet. In 2012 she successfully founded the hospital’s Storybook Gala, which has raised $1.6 million since its inception.

“Lauren sees a need and she immediately makes moves to fill it. She galvanizes a community and marshals their resources and networks,” said Jill Feinberg, Vice President of Development and External Affairs at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital.

Perlin now serves as vice-chair of the Mt. Washington Pediatric Foundation Board and will serve as chair in July 2020. She continues to serve as chair of the Storybook Gala and also serves as the chair of the campaign board and leadership division of the hospital’s Centennial Campaign.

Perlin also serves as the first director of development for Camps Airy and Louise, a brother-sister overnight camp in western Maryland. Since joining the organization in 2016, Perlin has been instrumental in securing generous donations and grants to assist with capital improvements and fundraising efforts.
