In this position, Dougherty will monitor and administrate contracts for the vendors selected to provide Maryland Relay’s free public services. These services, including Traditional Relay Service (TRS), Captioned Telephone Service (CTS) and Real-Time Text (RTT), allow people in Maryland who are unable to use a standard telephone to both make and receive calls.
Before joining DoIT, Dougherty served for more than a decade as the CEO for DeafTV, an online source that shares all sign language videos for the general public. He is highly experienced in the video relay interpreting industry, having worked as both an outreach specialist and a digital communications consultant.
Dougherty has more than 15 years of experience in the field of telecommunications and employment development for people with disabilities.
