To say 2020 has been a different kind of year would be an understatement. The COVID-19 pandemic has forced the adjustment of life and work. But one thing is clear we all need reasons to come together and celebrate in whatever format is safe. We need to learn from each other and continue to mentor and celebrate success.

In a typical year The Daily Record host’s 12 to 15 award and thought leadership events honoring more than 500 business, legal, nonprofit and up-and-coming leaders and bringing together more than 7,500 business and legal professionals from across Maryland. These events are core to our mission of providing news and information to help businesses innovate and grow and to build the next generation of leaders.

Events provide opportunities to learn from others, emulate success and build a strong network. They also allow other Maryland businesses to align with The Daily Record brand through sponsorships and to show their commitment to recognizing excellence.

For 132 years The Daily Record has been committed to serving our readers and innovating to keep up with business and economic changes. We continue to do the same today.

We launched our virtual events model on June 1 with Influential Marylanders which was originally scheduled for March. Our Health Care Heroes event and Leadership in Law are also being held virtually in June. The response from winners, sponsors and guests to coming together virtually has been outstanding. We had more than 400 registrants for Influential Marylanders who interacted during the event with live posts through various social feeds. We could not be together but we came together from any location and a tremendous celebration was held.

It is clear that for now we must continue to create new virtual events and provide ways for people to connect and celebrate safely. We are excited to announce that Top 100 Women on July 27 and the Women’s Leadership Summit on August 18 (also the 100th anniversary of the ratification of the 19th amendment) will be held virtually.

We’ve spent nearly a year working on plans for the 25th anniversary of our signature event. Although we won’t be able to celebrate this important class of women in person, we will honor and recognize them in a big way through multimedia storytelling. Just wait to see what we are creating. The event will be one filled with a look back at the history of this program that honors high-achieving women with reflections from many of those that have been involved over the years. We’ve reconnected with past scholarship winners and of course we will induct 16 women into the Circle of Excellence and honor all of the 2020 Top 100 Women. Reserve your ticket today. We are also offering a special combo rate to attend Top 100 Women and the Women’s Leadership Summit.
