Steiner Law Group LLC
Eric S. Steiner has built a law firm in Pikesville, the Steiner Law Group, with the aim of helping people, families and business owners going through the difficult process of bankruptcy.
But his role as an attorney involves much more than practicing law. “I am a trusted counselor to my clients and often am the only access to the legal system they may encounter,” he said.
A 2007 graduate of the University of Michigan Law School, the 37-year-old Steiner said he practices his profession based on personal principles. These include transparency with his clients, honesty, integrity and a goal of meeting clients at their level and making their experience with the legal process as easy as possible.
“Nothing warms my heart more than a grateful client who I am able to give a new lease on life unfettered from debt,” he said.
Steiner’s legal accomplishments have propelled him to awards as a Super Lawyers 2020, a winner of the Avvo Customer Choice Award in 2018 and one of the Top 10 Bankruptcy Attorneys in Maryland in 2019.
He’s also treasurer of the LGBT Bar Association of Maryland for 2020, a trustee for the Baltimore Bar Foundation and a member of the Baltimore City Bar Association Solo and Small Firm Committee, from 2019 to 2020.
An openly gay attorney, Steiner said one of his most memorable experiences volunteering with the LGBT Bar Association of Maryland was recently selecting LGBT law student job candidates for interviews through the Montgomery County Bar Association’s Summer Scholarship Pipeline Program.
He served on a panel to University of Baltimore Law School students about the program, provided mock interviews to the candidates and appeared for the interviews to learn more about the program and the people driving it.
“When I get involved in an organization, I strive to add value in any way I can,” he said.
