Director, Incoming CEO
But Ron Causey, CEO and founder of the SC&H Group, a management consulting, audit and tax firm based in Sparks, is confident that his successor is the right person for the job.
“As with any change of leadership, it can feel impossible to know if you made the right decision,” Causey said of his hand-picked successor, Pritpal Kalsi. “Pritpal’s leadership has been a relief through these uncertain times. … He’s caring, strategic, but most importantly, human. For the past 12 years, he’s used these values to successfully lead our BPM (Business Performance Management) team, which is our largest practice group.
“Though this year has been unexpected, it’s given me all the confidence that Pritpal is more than ready to lead SC&H Group, and not only carry on the legacy but make it better.”
Kalsi, 37, earned his bachelor’s degree in decision and information sciences from the University of Maryland School of Business in 2004.
Kalsi has worked for the SC&H Group since 2008. During that time, he created and has led the firm’s Innovation Committee, which focuses on using technology to add new services clients.
He also led the firm’s training program, implementing a training platform that has become a model for SC&H and earned the firm multiple “Best Place to Work” awards.
Kalsi is on the board of Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic and a guest lecturer at the University of Maryland and with the District of Columbia Public Schools.
“I believe that the best way to consistently innovate and achieve above-par results is to focus on helping others succeed before you own individual success,” he said. “There are very few needs in live that are centered on any one of us.”
He added: “As I take over the role of CEO next year, I’m looking forward to continuing to create a culture where our employees feel motivated to grow and are genuinely excited to teach and learn from each generation.”
