Raymond G. Truitt, a partner in the Baltimore office of law firm Ballard Spahr, was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers (ACREL), a national association of approximately 1,000 distinguished real estate lawyers. Truitt joins Ballard Spahr partner Tina R. Makoulian, who is serving her second three-year term on the Board.
With nearly 40 years of experience in real estate law, Truitt is known for his work in commercial real estate financing, leasing, development, and restructuring. He also serves as the firm’s managing partner of finance and operations, a member of the executive team of the management committee, and a member of its Diversity and Inclusion Council.
In addition to his work with ACREL, Truitt is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and served as Chair of both its Section of Real Property and the Section’s Code Revision Committee. He is also a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers, for which he acted as Chair of its 2014 U.S. Law Conference.
