Volunteers of America Chesapeake & Carolinas named Dr. Dan Bochicchio as the director of the VOA Hope Center, a behavioral health center which provides comprehensive behavioral health and primary care services to those living with symptoms of mental illness, substance use or co-occurring conditions.
Bochicchio brings a robust track record of accomplishments in clinical leadership and program management in a wide spectrum of clinical and support service organizations.
He is a decorated Army combat veteran who served two tours in Iraq. He most recently served as a Maryland Medical Reserve Corps physician for COVID-19 Response through Baltimore County Health Department and Prince Georges County Emergency Operations Center and has held extensive medical leadership roles including chief of staff of the Veterans Health Administration Hospital in Martinsburg, West Virginia; interim director/CEO of the Veterans Health Administration Medical Center in Beckley, West Virginia and vice chief surgeon with the Joint Staff at the Pentagon. He also serves as a disaster support services volunteer for the American Red Cross in Maryland and West Virginia.
