Janet Meyer
BCT Desin Group

meyer-janet_bct-headshotAs a Principal at BCT Design Group, Janet Meyer brings over 20 years of experience specializing in mixed-used projects that includes seniors and multi-housing units, retail, hospitality and office. As co-director of the Housing Studio at BCT, Meyer takes great pride in developing housing specific to the needs of seniors.

“I have been fortunate to have started my career designing senior living communities when most people thought only of the institutional settings no one wanted to visit, much less live in. It has been very rewarding to help shape the direction of senior housing over the last 23 years into vibrant communities that provide wonderful experiences for residents, their families, and the amazing staff that assist them,” said Meyer.

Meyer and her firm have also been instrumental in the revitalization of some of Baltimore’s historic architectural gems, such as 10 Light St. and the Alex Brown building.

“I am very proud of BCT’s work in creating these new opportunities in downtown Baltimore for people to live and enjoy, while celebrating the extraordinary, historic architecture our city has to offer,” she said.

Meyer has been an integral part of the design and construction of more than 3,000 housing units. She believes that successful residential projects – whether for seniors or millennials – require solid design principles, creativity and comprehensive market knowledge combined with the appropriate amenities.

She received her Master of Architecture from the University of Maryland School of Architecture. She is a member of the American Institute of Architects, American Seniors Housing Association, Urban Land Institute, ICSC, and Commercial Real Estate Women, Baltimore Chapter.
