The Orphans’ Court for Baltimore County Thursday announced the appointment of Alexis Burrell Rohde as register of wills for the county. She succeeds Grace G. Connolly, who announced her retirement March 16. Pursuant to the Maryland Constitution, the Orphans’ Court has the responsibility to name her successor.
Rohde is an attorney specializing in estates and trusts, and a former assistant attorney general whose focus was advising and representing the register of wills and the Orphans’ Court.
She earned her Juris Doctor from The University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2004.
“Grace Connolly is a Baltimore County icon and is credited with the professional and courteous manner in which the Register’s office operates,” Orphans’ Court Chief Judge William R. Evans said in a statement. “It is our belief Alexis Rohde is the right person at the right time to continue the excellent service the citizens of Baltimore County expect and deserve.”
