What have you had to change during the past year to make sure you were still “serving” even if the approach had to change?

If the last year has taught us anything, it’s that “doing the right thing” has truly become a competitive advantage for many brands. At SECU, we shifted all of our focus to how we can help our employees, our members, and our communities stay safe and secure during such an unprecedented time. It was amazing to see some of the most creative ideas surface so quickly. I’m fortunate to work with such impressive talent who support doing the right thing and choosing right over easy each day.

During COVID we have heard the word “essential workers” used many times. Beyond just essential workers Women are Essential in all industries from all backgrounds. We know that professional women have had to leave their job to help with childcare and sickness over the past year. What are your thoughts on how we work together so everyone knows Women are Essential in the workplace and we must make growing women leaders a priority?

It’s been well documented that the pandemic has had a disproportionate effect on women who are absolutely essential in the workforce. I’m fortunate to work for a company that recognizes the needs of working women and has created a trusted environment that equally recognizes contributions, has set family-friendly policies, and offers gender parity in pay.
