The past year has made us all face change in ways we did not know were possible. What are the tools you use to embrace change and to help your team navigate that change with you? What are you doing to lead important change in your organization and/or Maryland?
Attitude and enthusiasm is so very important when leading any team through change. As important is the ability to recognize the obstacles that may prevent the team’s success. Before a team can embrace change, a good leader is able to listen to the team’s feedback in order to redirect that energy to allow them to embrace the change needed to accomplish success. Last, celebrate and recognize the team when goals are achieved.
The past year has not only been challenging with COVID, but we have also faced race and discrimination challenges and realities as a state and a country. How do you establish a strategy for diversity, equity and inclusion in your organization and how do you use your influential voice to help others understand the importance?
Equity and inclusivity starts when an organization is entrenched in a community. For Freedom Federal Credit Union, our programs and services support the community at large. Credit Unions are not-for-profit so we reinvest our profits into the community. Many of our services provide second chance opportunities to the families that naturally struggle and those families that are having even more difficulty with the impacts of COVID. Customer service is a critical component to helping our members succeed.
