Executive Director
National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland & Delaware
What have you had to change during the past year to make sure you were still serving even if the approach had to change?
Over the past year, our organization had to pivot from all in-person community outreach, events and services to a virtual environment. In doing so, this also meant that we needed to change our approach to the traditional in-office working environment as well. We needed to think of new and creative ways to educate people about kidney disease and its impact in our communities.
The past year has made us all face change in ways we did not know were possible. What are the tools you use to embrace change and to help your team navigate that change with you?
Managing change means working closely with your team while setting clear goals about how change will be managed. The tools I use seem basic but are essential for a business to grow, expand and thrive. I work with my team to understand the change, plan for change, implement the change and communicate the change. Then we re-evaluate and continue our focus on priorities.
