What about your leadership style has helped grow your career and how have you had to change your leadership role/style during the past year?
I am a servant leader who promotes and thrives on communication, collaboration and teamwork. I believe that optimizing civil and respectful communications between team members and colleagues lead to favorable outcomes and relationships. The past year has occurred in the setting of an ever rapidly evolving landscape, one in which quick information gathering, decision making and information sharing have changed operational norms. I have needed to be resilient and fully engaged to lend support and offer direction. This has been a challenging year of tremendous growth, education and sacrifice.
As women leaders, it is our role to help grow the next generation of leaders. What advice can you share to help impact not only the younger generation but also the women who are trying to grow in their careers and create positive change?
The best advice I would give would be to lead your life and career with a sense of integrity and purpose; these principles will always direct your path. It is also important to share your time and talents with those who can benefit from them the most, whether this is in a professional or personal setting. When using your individual passions to exact positive change, do not become daunted by the enormity of the challenge. I created a motto that helps me focus and understand that “I cannot do everything but I must do everything I can” to make a positive difference in the lives of others.
