Mary Roby Sanders is a family and juvenile lawyer based in Towson. Th roughout her career, Sanders has hosted and organized more than 100 family law seminars and continued legal education programs. She has also acted as a direct mentor for six attorneys.

Sanders said her greatest accomplishment to date was establishing a “thriving practice” that is respected in the legal community as well as her leadership roles within the Maryland State Bar Association, Family and Juvenile Law Section Council and Continued Legal Education subcommittee.

“It is my passion to provide quality education to improve the family law bar,” she said.

She is the 2019 recipient of the Beverley Ann Groner Award from the Maryland State Bar Association, which is given to those who have devoted their legal careers to family law. She also received the Judith P. Ritchie Award from the Baltimore County Bar Association in 2020 and the J. Earle Plumhoff Award in 2014.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Sanders has devoted thousands of hours to pro bono work. She also serves on the board of Samuel Ready Scholarships Inc., a charitable organization that provides full-tuition for underprivileged girls to attend local private schools.

“This charity is so wonderful and changes the trajectory of these young women’s lives,” she says.

Sanders holds a law degree from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law and a bachelor’s from the University of Maryland, College Park.
