In 1992, a jury sitting in the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County convicted William Pruitt, appellant, of first-degree murder, use of a handgun in the commission of a crime of violence, and conspiracy to commit murder. The court sentenced him to life imprisonment for murder, a consecutive term of five years for the handgun offense, and a consecutive term of life for conspiracy to commit murder.
