THEODORE R. JOHNSON v. STATE OF MARYLAND

Criminal procedure — Motion to suppress evidence — Statement to police

The case before us is on appeal from the Circuit Court for Baltimore County, where Theodore Johnson (“Johnson”) was convicted of attempted second-degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a crime of violence, and illegal possession of a regulated firearm after a disqualifying conviction. Johnson’s sole contention on appeal concerns the State’s introduction of an excerpt of his statement to the police as rebuttal evidence after he testified in his own defense.
