As Saul Ewing Arnstein & Lehr LLP’s diversity and inclusion partner, Michelle N. Lipkowitz noted her election in January to the firm’s executive committee is a reflection of its “… commitment to diversity and inclusion; and the importance of diverse perspectives and experiences.”
Her legal practice focuses on commercial litigation, white-collar defense and government investigations. She has clients in the pharmaceutical, manufacturing, education, financial services, health care, construction, technology, retail and communications, government and nonprofit industries.
Lipkowitz earned her Juris Doctor from Georgetown University School of Law and undergraduate degree from Harvard University. She is a member of the Baltimore County Planning Board, the Character Committee for the Second Appellate Circuit of Maryland and board member of the Baltimore Urban Debate League and Park Heights Renaissance.
During the pandemic, she served on the Maryland Attorney General’s COVID-19 Access to Justice Task Force, which brought together leaders to reduce inequities in the civil justice system and develop solutions to assist the most vulnerable.
“In turn, I have been involved with pandemic-related decisions on both a local and more national level; and I have been focused on the state of race relations, including both the genesis and impact of the disparate loss of Black life,” she said.
Her approach to steering Saul Ewing’s Baltimore office as it adapts to the new realities imposed on the legal profession by COVID-19 is focusing on morale and on the positive.
