Mid-Atlantic developer Greenberg Gibbons announced Monday that Phase 3 of Towson Row, the $350 million mixed-use destination and new gateway to downtown Towson, will open Wednesday.
Phase 3 includes The York, a five-story, contemporary apartment building located above Whole Foods Market under construction and a new open-air plaza.
Greenberg Gibbons is developing Towson Row in partnership with Caves Valley Partners and The York is a joint venture with Gilbane Development Company.
The York is a 231-unit, 282,000-square-foot apartment complex within walking distance to Towson University. Offering more than 18 floor plans, each apartment comes fully furnished and has a living room, full kitchen, in-unit washer and dryer, high-speed internet and flat-screen TV. The amenity-rich building features an outdoor courtyard, clubroom, fitness center, computer lounge, study rooms, game room and a terrace for outdoor socializing and entertaining. Residents can begin moving in Wednesday.
Towson Row is located on 5 acres between York Road, Towsontown Boulevard, Washington Avenue and Chesapeake Avenue. The 1.2 million-square-foot development, that will be anchored by a 45,000-square-foot Whole Foods Market, will include over 75,000 square feet of retail/restaurant space, 150,000 square feet of Class A office space, 720 student housing beds, 231 apartment units, the adaptive re-use of the former National Guard armory building into Towson University’s StarTUp and a 220-room dual-flag hotel.
