Eastern Shore man charged with impersonating officer, police say

SALISBURY — A man has been charged with impersonating a police officer on the Eastern Shore, Maryland State Police announced Thursday.

The 24-year-old Fruitland man surrendered to police at the Salisbury Barrack and was charged with three counts of impersonating a police officer, police said.

Troopers received multiple complaints about a man driving a Ford Crown Victoria with no police markings in Salisbury, who was activating emergency lights to move traffic out of his way and trying to make traffic stops.

Investigators identified the man as a suspect through interviews with witnesses and social media posts describing the incidents, police said. Investigators are working to determine if there are any other victims.
