The investiture is scheduled for 9 a.m. in the James Weldon Johnson Auditorium, located on the university’s campus at 2500 W. North Ave. in Baltimore.

Jenkins has been at the helm for more than a year. He began his tenure as president May 26, 2020.

“We take students where they are, and we move them to where they need to be. That’s one of our strengths. Our greatest asset is our students, their determination, desire and will to not be counted amongst the broken ones,” Jenkins said.

Jenkins will be celebrated by a host of invited supporters, faculty, staff, alumni, family and friends, including USM Chancellor Jay Perman, Lt. Gov. Boyd Rutherford, U.S. Sen. Chris Van Hollen, D-Md., state Sen. Antonio Hayes, D-Baltimore city and Dr. Freeman Hrabowski III, president of the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
