‘Clubhouse’ aimed at supporting teens facing addiction issues to open in Harford

A facility aimed at providing teens with a place to have fun without the use of substances is set to open in Harford County this spring.

The facility, The Clubhouse, is run by Ashley Addiction Treatment and is designed to provide children ages 12 to 17 with a safe, substance free place to have positive experiences to learn, grow, hang out with peers and strengthen family bonds, according to a news release. At least 30 children and their families are expected to be served by the facility each year.

Virtual programming launched in January 2021, but the physical Clubhouse space is slated to open in the spring.

The Clubhouse has been supported by grant funding from the Harford County Office of Mental Health. Harford County Executive Barry Glassman is scheduled to tour the site, at 1010-1022 Beards Hill Road, on Dec. 16.
