MVLS hosts annual Celebrate Pro Bono Awards

The Maryland Volunteer Lawyers Service held its annual Celebrate Pro Bono awards event Oct. 13 at the Reginald F. Lewis Museum in Baltimore as nearly 140 volunteers, sponsors and staff members attended to congratulate this year’s award recipients.

This year’s winners include Stewart Law & Associates LLC (Law Firm of the Year), Danielle M. Mikoy, Esq. (Volunteer of the Year), Maryland Society of Accounting and Tax Professionals and Rebuild Johnston Square Neighborhood Organization (Partnership of the Year), Lawrence J. “Larry” Macklin, CPA, Esq., AEP (Clinic Volunteer of the Year), Chelsea Ortega, Esq. (Young Lawyer of the Year), Richard Lee “Ricky” Adams III Esq. (Mentor of the Year), Jennifer E. Jaimes, Esq. (COVID-19 Response Award) and Juanita Wills, Esq. and Joseph E. Stolz Jr., Esq. (Special Recognition Award).

MVLS is the largest provider of pro bono civil legal services to Marylanders.

The Celebrate Pro Bono Awards recognize Maryland-based attorneys, certified public accountants and community partners who volunteer their time and resources to help Marylanders navigate civil legal challenges that involve family, housing and tax situations, among other legal issues.
