Appellant, Marquis Vazquez, was convicted by a jury sitting in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City of illegal possession of a regulated firearm after being convicted of a disqualifying crime, and wearing, carrying, and transporting a handgun on his person. Appellant was sentenced on the first offense to fifteen years’ imprisonment, all but eight years suspended, the first five years without the possibility of parole, and a concurrent three years on the second offense, to be followed by five years’ supervised probation.
