Criminal procedure — Motion to suppress evidence — Prior convictions

Following a bench trial in the Circuit Court for Baltimore City, the court found appellant, Keith Hayes, guilty of sexual offense in the first degree, conspiracy, assault in the second degree, and false imprisonment. The court sentenced appellant to a term of life
imprisonment, with all but 35 years suspended, for the sexual offense, as well as additional consecutive terms totaling 40 years for the other offenses. Appellant appealed and presented the following three issues …
