For LifeBridge Health’s executive vice president and chief operating officer, leading the health system through the coronavirus pandemic has been Leslie Simmons’ proudest professional accomplishment.
Throughout the pandemic, and her five years at LifeBridge, Simmons has managed hospital operations, collaborating with each LifeBridge hospital president in Maryland. She makes sure that employees are equipped to provide high quality care to patients.
Simmons has more than 30 years of experience in the health care industry. She served for 20 years in various leadership positions at Carroll Hospital, including as its president and CEO. Carroll Hospital merged with LifeBridge Health in 2015.
Simmons has a background as a clinical nurse and is a resident of Westminster.
What’s the most important life lesson you learned?
That together we can achieve more and that every single person has a mission critical function and is a major contributor to all we do, and that the lessons I learned earlier in my career prepared me well for what I do today. Never forget from whence I came!
What do you do for fun and why?
I like riding my motorcycle on the back roads of Carroll County and spending time with my husband, kids and grandbabies at our lakehouse retreat!
