With more than 30 years of realty experience, Creig Northrop tries to lead by example, helping others build their own future in the real estate business.

“My philosophy is to reach one, teach one, and push people to exceed expectations,” said Northrop, who is the CEO and co-founder of Northrop Realty with his wife, Carla.

The brokerage is a partnership with Long & Foster Company and Christie’s International and focuses on educating other realtors, as well as providing sales strategies and techniques.

Prior to founding Northrop Realty in 2018, Northrop led The Creig Northrop Team with his wife for 18 years, during which they were named the nation’s No. 1 real estate brokerage team in the nation three times by Real Trends and the Wall Street Journal.

Northrop graduated from the University of Maryland in 1989 with degrees in psychology and business.

Who was your most significant mentor, and what did you learn from that person?

My mother was my most significant mentor. She made a name for herself in real estate against all odds as a single mother, achieving Coldwell Bankers’ No. 1 Agent Internationally an unprecedented three times. Her relentlessness and ability to tap into a buyer’s imagination through the creative writing of her listings were key to her success. She taught me that if I can conceive it and believe it, I can achieve it.
