PRESIDENT AND CEO
ROSEDALE FEDERAL SAVINGS AND LOAN ASSOCIATION
The ninth president and CEO at Rosedale Federal Savings and Loan Association, Kevin Benson prioritizes maintaining the bank’s relevance and competitiveness. Rosedale Federal is mutually owned by its depositors and has roots in the Baltimore region going back more than 110 years.
Prior to taking over as the head of Rosedale Federal in 2016, Benson worked as the chief lending officer for the bank for six years. He has previously held positions at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
If Benson was not in the banking industry, he thinks he would be a social studies teacher as he enjoys connecting with and learning from the next generation.
Benson earned a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Baltimore.
Who was your most significant mentor and what did you learn from that person?
While I have benefited from many mentors in my professional career, none have been more impactful than my wife Kim. She is incredibly smart and very practical. She’s a CPA and has excellent people skills. What I’ve learned from her is that a good mentor will give you encouragement and cheer on your accomplishments. But a great mentor will help you see blind spots and offer advice you can’t get elsewhere.
