Appellant was indicted in the Circuit Court for Baltimore County on 11 counts, including attempted murder, home invasion, and burglary, after breaking into his ex-wife’s hotel room and attempting to stab her with a box cutter knife. A trial date was set for March 19, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all criminal jury trials were suspended until October 5, 2020.1 Appellant, pro se, and his counsel filed several motions to dismiss the charges on speedy trial grounds.
