Six years after graduating from the University of North Carolina with his bachelor’s in Radio, Television and Film, in 1984, Raymond Crosby joined Crosby Marketing Communications, a marketing firm based in his hometown of Annapolis.
In the 36 years since then, he has built his firm into a respected powerhouse – winner of more than 100 awards for marketing and creative excellence and ranked in the top 50 of independent communications firms in the country.
“I’m very grateful to have built a company that has a reputation for excellence while helping hundreds of staff
members and their families prosper along the way,” he said.
His company, he said, works with leading national nonprofits, health care organizations and federal agencies on “integrated marketing programs that improve people’s lives and contribute to the greater good.”
Crosby Marketing has won more than 150 industry awards in the last five years for creative and marketing excellence, and was named a 2021 Agency of the Year by PRovoke Media, a media company that covers public relations trends and issues.
“Our business success also allows us to be very involved in the community and support a variety of great causes,” Crosby said.
One of Crosby’s passions is increasing diversity in the advertising and public relations industry. His company recently launched the Crosby Marketing Scholars Program, in partnership with Anne Arundel Community College.
The program offers $100,000 in scholarships and mentoring programs to students from diverse backgrounds so they can pursue degrees and future careers in the field.
Perhaps his biggest accomplishment, Crosby said, has been building numerous personal and business relationships with clients that span decades.
Crosby has been a member of the council of governors of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, Mid-Atlantic Region, since 2012.
