In 2021, Dania Ayoubi was appointed an administrative law judge for the Maryland Office of Administrative Hearings, becoming the first Muslim American to hold the position. She previously served in the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau for seven years. She initially worked as counsel before being named senior counsel in 2018.
Ayoubi has also worked as an attorney adviser for the Federal Communications Commission, as a judicial law clerk to Chief Judge Eric T. Washington at the District of Columbia Court of Appeals, and law clerk for Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP. She earned her Juris Doctor and bachelor’s degree from Georgetown University, graduating magna cum laude.

The No. 1 challenge working women face is gaining representation in areas where women have not traditionally been. Traditional professions like the law, for example, stand to benefit most from the inclusion of diverse voices that bring a new and valuable perspective.
