Heather McLeod, chief marketing officer of Authority Brands in Columbia, said she focuses on authenticity and open communication in her quest to keep her employer and company brands top of mind.
“I help other people’s light shine brighter by appreciating and understanding their unique strengths,” she wrote.
McLeod has helped the company grow over the past five years, expanding its marketing department from two employees to more than 60.
“It gives me such joy to not just to work alongside them every day, but to strive to create an environment that supports them and their continued personal and professional development.”
Outside the office, McLeod serves as the franchise marketing mentor for a Baltimore startup, Spot Wash, advising the “Uber of car detailing” business to succeed in the franchise market.
She is a volunteer with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Baltimore, and recently joined its board of directors.
“Whether it’s through learning a trade, having access to tutoring, or a safe place to be after school, I am so honored to help this organization continue to grow and reach new levels of support and expand the resources they offer,” she wrote.
The New York native earned her bachelor’s degree and Master of Business Administration from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
