Offit Kurman

Rachel Mech, a principal at Offit Kurman, lives by the motto: “It’s never crowded on the extra mile.” She said, “I believe women must support other women.”

The family law attorney takes pride in mentoring a female co-worker who is entering law school. Transitioning has become her expertise and said she will go the extra mile for colleagues and clients because her work demands it.

“My cases not only involve but necessitate change. Family law cases are emotional and for that reason difficult. But with change comes new beginnings. I find helping my clients focus on the positive during the process they are fully prepared and ready to start the next phase of life,” she wrote.

In 2021, she became a mother and was made a partner at the firm this year. “Some days I may be significantly better at one job than the other, but I feel incredibly blessed to have the opportunity and support to do both.”

Mech earned her law degree from Boston College School of Law and both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Georgetown University where she later worked as an adjunct faculty member.

Since 2007, Mech has served as treasurer of Welcome Aboard Travel.
