Rick Jaklitsch is quick to credit the incredible success of his firm to what he calls the “world’s greatest staff,” with many employees having worked with him more than 20 years and relentless in providing great customer service.

Known as “The Big Dog” to judges, insurance claim representatives, clients and opposing council, Jaklitsch’s personal injury trial practice takes on personal injury cases caused by the negligence of others in the car, truck and train crashes.

The firm was voted Maryland’s Best Personal Injury Firm and Best Civil Litigation Firm by the readers of The Daily Record and Best Personal Injury Trial Law Firm – USA by Global Business Insight. This year, he was honored again by Lawyer International as its Personal Injury Trial Attorney of the Year and has also been named by national legal organizations as Maryland Attorney of the Year three times, Litigator of the Year and Trial Attorney of the Year. A former Terrapin Club president, Jaklitsch can be found with his wife and two kids at many of University of Maryland’s athletic contests, or on the pickleball courts in Annapolis. He has previously won awards in lacrosse in the MSA A Conference Lacrosse Championship, golf awards from the Maryland State Bar Association and other local bar associations, and trophies from the Maryland State Championship Softball, which his team won four times.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law. He is a graduate of Calvert Hall College High School.
