Introducing The Daily Record’s 2022 Business & Employment Law Power List

These days there seems to be no end to the legal issues that confront business owners and employers.

Thomas Baden Jr.

Rapidly changing state and federal regulations. The need to protect confidential business information. Copyright or trademark issues. Discrimination and harassment policies. Nondisclosure and noncompete agreements. And on it goes.

The attorneys who work in this far-ranging and complex field can be instrumental in the long-term success of their clients.

The 25 men and women you’ll meet in this list are among the finest practitioners in the business and employment law sector in Maryland.

This list was chosen by our editorial leadership team. We reached out to readers and others in the legal community for input and perspective.

In this list, we explore how these attorneys view their profession, what they would change if they could and what they might be doing if they hadn’t chosen this career. We’re hoping to offer a glimpse into the kind of people they are and how they see their accomplishments.

This list is part of a series of Power Lists throughout 2022 that will showcase the most influential figures in law, higher education, health care, business, financial services and other fields.

You can find this and all our Power Lists on our website,

We hope you enjoy this publication, and we welcome your feedback and suggestions, including through this recommendation form.

Do you know a person who you feel should appear on one of The Daily Record’s future Power Lists? Take a few minutes and tell us why in this form.

  1. Great list of excellent management-side practitioners, many of whom send me referrals on a regular basis, but it would be nice if you recognized some of the excellent plaintiff’s-side employment attorneys in the Baltimore area!

  2. Same ole same ole. Mostly Management side law firms. Mostly white lawyers. In a state with one of the highest concentrations of Black lawyers there should be better representation on this list. How do you expect to expand your reach when you keep dipping to the same well?
