Along-standing leader in aging services, Lynn O’Connor confronted the pandemic’s challenges for the more than 2,000 residents and staff members of Ingleside communities with open communication, programs to enrich the lives of older adults, and an aggressive vaccination campaign for both residents and staff.
She has also overseen a considerable reorganization, repositioning, and rebranding of the Ingleside system in Montgomery County since 2010; created a parent corporation and corporate structure; and expanded the mission of the organization to create a not-for-profit private duty home care corporation and a for-profit real estate development company.
Known as a CEO who uplifts others and makes staff a priority, O’Connor’s leadership style is to take a hands-on approach and lead by example whenever possible.
Under her leadership, $500,000,000 expansion projects became operational in 2019 and 2020. At Ingleside at Rock Creek, Westminster at Lake Ridge and Ingleside at King Farm, she has provided resources for residents to achieve and maintain engaged, purposeful lives. That includes the Centers for Healthy Living, which offer classrooms, instructional spaces, theaters, meditation areas, salons, a creative arts center and more.
She was previously president and CEO of Frasier Meadows Retirement Community in Colorado and The Washington Home Community Hospices in Washington, D.C., Virginia and Maryland.
She was elected in 2021 as board chair for the Presbyterian Association of Homes and Services for the Aging and in Aug. 2022 as the board chair of LeadingAge D.C.
O’Connor is a licensed nursing home administrator in Maryland and was previously licensed in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Washington, D.C. She is a Certified Aging Services Professional and a Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional.
